ABSTRACT Software is growing ever-more complex and new software processes, methods and products put greater demands on software engineers than ever before. Software Engineering is broadly associated with the development of quality software with increasing use of software preparation standards and guidelines. Organizations now have a tendency to make greater efforts in developing software in distributive way. The main advantage of this lies in a greater availability of human resources in decentralized zones at less cost. There are, however, some disadvantages which are caused by the distance that separates the development teams. Coordination and communication among the team members become more difficult as the software components are sourced from different places, thus affecting project organization, project control, and product quality. In addition to these, there are major challenges like technical diversities such as hardware and software configuration of distributed site, product architecture, development methodology, managerial techniques result with "gaps" at different levels of distributed software development project. There are different methodologies to deal with these gaps. The use of Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools has been marketed as a remedy for the software development crisis by automating analysis, design, and coding for the ease the distributed development of software systems. This paper proposes the selection of appropriate CASE tools and their implementation in analysis gaps towards managing distributed software development

Background: Tuberculosis is continued to be a major killer of mankind. Childhood tuberculosis contributes to high mortality due to diagnostic difficulty. Different social factors are responsible for its causation. The objective of the study was to assess the socio clinical factors prevalent among paediatric TB cases admitted to MKCG Medical College. Methods: It was a cross sectional study carried out in the indoor paediatric ward of MKCG medical college. Duration of the study was from August 2016 to July 2017. Study participants were all admitted paediatric cases of age group less than 14 years. Data collected through scientifically designed pretested questionnaires. Results: Total 103 patients were admitted during study period of whom, 54% were male. Their median age was 8 years. They were mostly Hindu by religion (98%) and from lower socioeconomic classes (77%). Majority (60%) were from nuclear family (59%) and families of BPL card holder. Most of their parents had low educational status. Physical overcrowding, inadequate ventilation in the house and smoking were main epidemiological factors observed. Conclusions: It was concluded from the above study group, socioeconomic and environmental risk factors were widely prevalent among them. So, control of these factors are the priority issues to be addressed and improvement of these conditions are recommended for effectiveness of the curative measures

Laparoendoscopic hybrid procedure – Oncologically safe and feasible option for gastrointestinal stromal tumours of the stomach

Minimally invasive resection of gastrointestinal stromal tumours of the stomach is a feasible alternative to the traditional open approach, without the need for advanced laparoscopic training, as lymph node dissection is not necessary and excision with a negative margin is the only requirement. The loss of tactile feedback is a known drawback of laparoscopic surgery, causing difficulty in assessing the margin of resection. Earlier described laparoendoscopic techniques require advanced endoscopic procedures, which are not readily available in all places. We present a novel method wherein we use an endoscope to guide the resection margins during laparoscopic surgery. In our experience of five patients, we were able to successfully use this technique to get the negative margins pathologically. This hybrid procedure can thus be used to ensure adequate margin, keeping all the benefits of laparoscopic surgery
